1. Labor is set to announce a new small claims tribunal that would assist workers claiming unpaid wages in a speech in Perth today. Bill Shorten will also target Clive Palmer as the election campaign enters its final days, and will claim that Palmer would arrive in Canberra with "a political IOU almost as big as his ego" if he is elected.

2. 58% of Australians believe that honest is the most important attribute of our next Prime Minister according to a Roy Morgan Research survey for the Australian Futures Project, with compassion the next highest attribute on 12%.

3. British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced that MPs will be able to vote on her Brexit deal for the fourth time in the first week of June, coinciding with President Donald Trump's visit to the country.

4. Donald Trump has described the trade war between the United States and China as "a little squabble". Trump also predicted that China is set to cut interest rates, and that if the US Federal Reserve also cut rates, "it would be game over, we win!"

5. Wall Street stocks clawed back some of their losses from earlier this week. The Dow Jones rose 0.82% to 25,532.05, the S&P 500 lifted 0.80% to 2,834.41 and the Nasdaq gained 1.14% to 7,734.49.
