1. A Newspoll from The Australian suggests that Clive Palmer could act as "kingmaker" in four marginal seats, with a primary vote of 14% in the seat of Herbert in north Queensland, 8% in Pearce, WA, 7% in Lindsay, NSW and 5% in Deakin, Victoria.

2. Following the Hayne Royal Commission, AMP and IOOF are among the lowest ranked super brands by brand strength according to research from CoreData published by the AFR. Cbus, Australian Super and HESTA are the top ranked brands.

3. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has committed $100 million in government funding for a $1 billion growth fund for small businesses that the Coalition says will help create 250,000 new small businesses over the next five years.

4. The Dow Jones slipped 0.18% during the first trading day of the week in the US, while the S&P 500 rose 0.10% and the Nasdaq gained 0.22%
