1. Macquarie has become the last bank in Australia to stop offering residential property loans to SMSFs from April 30. The bank also said it would stop offering family guarantee loans as of next Monday.

2. British Prime Minister Theresa May will write to European Council President Donald Tusk to request a delay of Brexit ahead of a meeting between EU leaders in Brussels on Thursday. 

3. Some US officials are afraid that China is backtracking on certain conditions as part of the ongoing trade negotiations between the two countries according to a report from Bloomberg, potentially putting into doubt a boost for President Donald Trump's re-election bid.

4. The Dow Jones slipped 0.10% points overnight to 25,887.38 points, and the S&P 500 also fell slightly during the session, closing 0.01% lower at 2,832.57 points. The Nasdaq managed a gain of 0.12% to 7,723.95 points.

5. Areas of Far North Queensland have been hit with winds over 200 km/h and over 300mm of rain after Tropical Cyclone Trevor made landfall yesterday. Trevor has now been downgraded to a category two cyclone.
