1. The Coalition has fallen two points in the two-party-preferred vote to trail Labor 46 to 54 according to The Australian's Newspoll, marking the party's 50th consecutive loss.

2. Barnaby Joyce has called on Prime Minister Scott Morrison to support a new coal-fired power station to be built in central Queensland in an interview with The Australian.

3. A poll published by the Sun Herald over the weekend put Labor just ahead of the Coaltion for the NSW Election on March 23, with a 51 to 49 lead in the two-party-preferred vote.

4. Wall Street stocks fell again on Friday to reach five consecutive days of losses. The Dow was down 0.09% to 25,450.24 points, the S&P 500 fell 0.21% to 2,743.07 points and the Nasdaq slipped 0.18% to 7,408.14 points.

5. An Ethopian Airlines flight has crashed just after takeoff from Addis Ababa, the nation's capital, with all 149 passengers and eight crew killed. The Boeing 737 Max-8 was delivered to the airline in November.
