1. Labor's plan to increase the annual humanitarian intake from 18,740 to 32,000 refugees will cost Australia $6.2 billion over 10 years according to Prime Minister Scott Morrison, citing Finance Department figures.

2. Malcolm Turnbull has lashed out the Liberal Party for his removal as Prime Minister in an interview with the BBC. Turnbull claimed that "you could argue that their concern was not I would lose the election but rather that I would win it."

3. The president of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi, announced that the euro zone economy will grow by 1.1% in 2019, down from an earlier forecast of 1.7% made in December last year.

4. Stocks on Wall Street fell again overnight with the Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Nasdaq closing lower for the fourth consecutive day. The Dow dropped 0.78%, the S&P slipped 0.81% and the Nasdaq fell 1.13%

5. Michael Cohen is suing the Trump Organization for unpaid legal fees. Donald Trump's former personal lawyer claims he is owed around US$1.9 million.
