1. Treasurer Josh Fydenberg has told Sky News that the International Monetary Fund gave Australia "a big tick in terms of its economic performance". 

2. Labor remains ahead in the latest Guardian Essential poll with 52% of the two-party-preferred vote comapred to the Coalition's 48%. The Coalition is ahead in the primary vote with 38%, comapred to Labor on 37%.

3. President Donald Trump took to Twitter to announce that he would delay the introduction of additional tariffs on imports from China to the US that were set to be introduced on March 1. "I am pleased to report that the U.S. has made substantial progress in our trade talks with China on important structural issues," Trump tweeted.

4. On the back of Trump's tweets, the Dow rose 0.23%, the S&P 500 lifted 0.12% and the Nasdaq gained 0.36%

5. The UK Labour party will support a second Brexit referendum according to Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn.
