·      At least 82 people have been killed after a magnitude 7 earthquake struck the Indonesian tourist island of Lombok on Sunday, one week after another quake on the island killed more than a dozen. The latest quake triggered a brief tsunami warning and damaged buildings as far away as Denpasar in Bali.

·      A vintage WWII war plane in Switzerland has crashed into a mountainside killing 20 people. The plane - a Junkers JU-52 HB-HOT - was carrying 17 passengers and three crew on a sightseeing flight when it took off on Saturday afternoon. The passengers were returning to Zurich from a two-day excursion in Locarno near Switzerland's southern border. The cause of the crash is not known.

·      Fremantle player Andrew Brayshaw has been left with a broken jaw and missing teeth following a punch by West Coast player Andrew Gaff in Sunday’s Western Derby match. The 18-year-old is unlikely to play again this year, according to coach Ross Lyon.

·      A Facebook trial has launched to combat revenge porn by asking users to send the social network their nude photos, despite the previous attempt being put on hold dur to privacy concerns. Australia is one of four countries participating in a global pilot. The system aims to identify and delete any future nude image uploads.

·      US jobs data on Friday showed the unemployment rate held a near an 18-year low. But the headline jobs figure missed estimates while wage growth was unchanged — a result which reinforced the current US economic paradigm of steady growth with low inflation.
