·       Domino’s pizza boss Don Meij has become Australia’s highest paid CEO, earning an estimated $36.84 million last year, according to a new analysis by the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors.

·       Tesla shares tumbled 2.75% to US$310.10 after its chief executive Elon Musk used Twitter to fire off online abuse at one of the British cave divers involved in the rescue of 12 Thai children last week, calling him a "pedo."

·       Amazon’s first Australia Prime Day Sale has kicked off. The 24-hour sale gives subscribers up to 70% some items. The sale ends tonight at midnight, although so far response hasn’t matched the international hype.

·       In a press conference following the high stakes meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump indicated that believes Russia didn’t meddle in the 2016 US election. He said that while he had “great confidence” in the US intelligence community, Putin was “extremely strong and powerful in his denial”. The remarks received rebuke from Republican lawmakers.

·       Overnight in the US, the Dow Jones rose 0.2% to 25,064, the S&P 500 dropped 0.1% at 2,798 and the Nasdaq fell 0.3% to 7,806. Meanwhile in Europe, the FTSE dropped 0.8% to 7,600, and the DAX rose 0.2% to 12,561.
